What to do when Inspiration plays hide and seek

As you might have guessed already, blogging is a creative business, and as such, a blog is pretty much built upon the pillars of the seemingly endless inspiration of its author. However, I will be completely honest with you, glamistas: keeping those inspiration levels high is sometimes harder than trying to avoid Despacito on the radio. (#FAIL!)

This summer has not been particularly exciting for us, as we have planned our holidays around the end of September for logistic reasons (weddings, birthdays, family reunions, etc.), so that has translated into rain and more rain, not enough barbecues and too much work, I mean, who can stay inspired under these conditions? But as you know, She talks Glam goes on: week after week I avidly explore every corner of my closet –and of the Internet– in order to bring you something worth spending a few minutes reading on.

I decided it would be a fun experiment to invite you to the backstage of my creative process and show you my go-to places for fuelling the inspiration tank and a few things that are keeping my eyes sparkling lately. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do! 😀

Inspiration Sources

Pinterest: As I have mentioned maaaaaany times already, Pinterest is the inspiration mecca for all bloggers out there, particularly in the DIY, cooking and fashion fields, but you can find here pretty much anything you can dream of and save it (pin it) for later! You can see what images I have been pinning lately, mostly populating my board Summer Haze… #obsessedandiknowit

Other blogs (via Bloglovin’): since I started blogging, I haven’t stopped checking out new blogs, connecting with people at the other end of the planet and learning from them. Seeing the content other bloggers are coming up with brings a lot of ideas to my mind and also makes me want to keep on improving this little corner you are visiting (btw, thanks!)

► Movies & Series: I will confess that since I blog, “spare time” is not in my vocabulary that often, but when I do manage to find a few hours to relax, I love to read and watch movies & series. As a huge fan of Friends, it’s so funny to see how Rachel and Monica’s style can be now found in high-street stores and how the good old trends always make a comeback. You know I love the 90s aesthetic but I also draw inspiration from more classical eras on how to style my hair or the importance of accessories 😉

Instagram: in the social media era, it was only natural to mention this little friend that, although one that requires a lot of attention, also gives back a lot of creativity and inspiration. In my daily scrolls, I always come across amazing fashion shots, but also pictures that make my mouth water or locations that make me wanna buy a plane ticket right there and then! *sighs*

► The outside world: a shocker, right? Believe it or not, it’s the girls and boys around me that inspire me the most when it comes to fashion. I don’t (never will?) have the budget to copy the big influencers’ outfits, so I rely a lot on the people I pass by on the street, whose swag and creativity never ceases to amaze me!

This is me every time I go to London…

She talks Glam when she steps on the streets of London

And now on to my pick list of the month: three things I am crushing on lately, cause when I say I am digging something, I mean it!

Fashion Blogger Crush

I had real trouble choosing just one picture from Andreea, the beautiful mind behind Couturezilla. She has simply too many fabulous outfits and shooting locations to choose from! I have been following her since I joined the blogging community and not only does she have the best taste when it comes to anything French chic, but she is also super funny. You should seriously check her blog out!

DIY Blogger Crush

I think it was only fair to mention my little sister Koral from Fabrica de Imaginacion once again, because a) she curates the most amazing content to help us lead a creative life, from home decor to fashion customisation, and b) she was the main inspiration and support for launching my own blog and she keeps on helping me every time I pester her with technical questions, so it would mean the world to me if you would show her blog some love ♥ – for now only in Spanish, but her gorgeous pictures don’t need many words!

Musical Crush

I am obsessing over this music clip from Anne-Marie, Ciao Adios –Did I ever tell you one of my dreams is to appear on a music video? 😀 Although the lyrics talk (again!) of her poor taste in men who always end up cheating on her, it is set in the exotic city of Marrakesh, and it includes a display of vibrant colourful buildings, goats in a tree, MC hammer pants all over the place and a general badass vibe that has me totally captivated. Plus the choreography is so cool!

And that’s a wrap, glamistas! Hope you enjoyed this kind of post and I would love to hear the things that keep you tickling when inspiration plays hide and seek ♥

Also, next week there won’t be a Sunday post as I will be stuffing my mouth with pizza and gelato somewhere in Tuscany, so talk to you in two weeks!

Love&Peace

I’m all about Pinterest! I can find so much inspiration there. If I need fashion inspo, there. Interior, there. Blog, there. There is literally anything that you need! But the second best for me is definitely just going out. Checking the city etc. Maybe even asking if I can take a photo of a random people to memorize the clothing!

Oh girl, I totally know what you mean about the need to be constantly inspired. I’ve had some difficulties lately with even staying on top of my blog. It’s been a crazy month and is about to get crazier. I do feel that Hawaii has inspired me quite a bit with some future content and I’m looking forward to NYFW for inspiration also. I love the Couturzilla too! Andrea is fantastic and has amazing content!

I know, summer has been kinda odd as there are always so many commitments and it’s difficult to keep the routine, but at the same time we need to learn to live away from our screens and look for ideas out there, in the real world, hahahaha. Hawaii sounds like an amazing place to find inspiration indeed, looking forward to your posts about it! Xx
