You cant’t say I didn’t warn you guys, I clearly remember mentioning there was more content coming up featuring autumn’s king print and I like to stay true to my word, glamistas, so there you have it: the second instalment of the checked blazer in the form of an atypical power suit.
If you are a regular reader of the blog, you have probably noticed a slight obsession with culottes and flowy bottoms. Well, it’s no secret that comfort is at the top of my list when it comes to fashion –99% of the times anyways– and we have already established that culottes are not only comfy but very fashionable these days so that’s the main reason I keep on adding pairs to my wardrobe as if I were to beat some kind of record. When the trend or my love for them is over, I might put together a patch throw, which I picture large enough to cover the grounds of my whole neighbourhood.
But I digress! Here’s a new take on the power suit for those of you who don’t like to wear suits –raise your hands, I know I am not alone in this!– but still like to look put together and badass.
I know culottes tend to relax an outfit and bring it into the casual side of the road, but that’s what shoes and accessories are there for, gals! Oftentimes adding a good pair of heels or dressy shoes and some dainty jewels is enough to elevate a casual look to the category of smart, so that’s exactly what I did here. Pointy flats: check. Golden delicate jewellery: check. Matching culottes and blazer: double check!
And if pairing your culottes & blazer with a feminist tee is not the coolest #ladyboss ensemble out there, I don’t know what is!
On a more personal note, I didn’t have the best week, but I would like to thank you all again for your continuous support Sunday after Sunday and for your kind comments on my latest post about getting lost in the social media labyrinth. Seeing so many of you sharing the same experiences and thoughts makes me feel less alone and a bit closer to you. At the end of the day, we are all trying to find the balance between what makes us happy as creative minds and what the industry dictates we should do in order to reach our goals…
However, I can tell you that I am very excited for the months ahead, for autumn and even winter (!), and that She talks Glam will keep on bringing you looks and thoughts every Sunday as usual, plus anything you would like to see as well. Just let me know in the comments down below if there is a particular subject –fashion or otherwise– that you would like me to cover and I’ll gladly oblige!
For now, let’s wrap up with a few more shots of this look, not your average checked suit that’s for sure! 😉
What do you think on my take on a power suit, peeps? Do you approve of culottes or prefer tighter fits?
Hope you had a great Halloween night and that your Sunday is filled with pumpkin spiced everything and cosy blankets. I know that’s what I have lined up for mine! 🙂
Peace&Love

2nd November 2017 at 10:11 pmI am definitely a big fan of culottes for the same reason, comfy and chic. I love the kingpin suit and culotte pairing! Must be a dream to wear! I also love the addition of the femme t-shirt to really add to the whole girl boss vibes. I totally understand your frustrations with Instagram and how bizarre it all can be sometimes. I find myself taking breaks of 4-5 days sometimes when I just need to digress and be a part of the “real world =P”. Thank you so your very thoughtful comments on my post about my health. I am so happy to be supporting each other through this blogging journey. Hope you are well!
