Rocking the Band Tee

See what I did there? Super original, I know 😀

This week has been one of those when you feel your energy levels below ground, when there is too much work, too much rain (June, you say?), to little coffee and too little fun. We all have weeks like these, when not even looking at cute puppy videos on YouTube cheers you up. Oh, wait, I haven’t actually tried that one yet. Will be back in a sec… *Ahem*

On weeks like these, one needs to bring out the big guns, aka wear a killer outfit that makes you feel real cool and badass. After all, isn’t that what fashion is supposed to do for us? 😉

The band tee is not a new thing, I mean, it probably is as old as the bands themselves, but let’s admit is supertrendy at the moment and so I couldn’t resist getting a couple from Primark’s collection. I am digging these grey washed-out pieces that go well with any jeans, and if you happen to find the perfect mom jeans, it’s a match made in heaven!

I’ll admit rock’n’roll is not my go-to kinda music, but I am totally on board with its aesthetic: biker jackets, studs, fishnets, shirt dresses, ripped everything… As a big fan of casual outfits, I think there is nothing more casual yet effortless cool than a rock-inspired look.

For my take on the trend, I decided to style the band tee with a chic twist, by pairing it with my staple black block heels and a blazer –in case the temperatures drop, because… England! And to top it all, a cute gold-chain mini bag to elevate the whole look and add some bling 😉

Okay, I might not be the biggest Kiss fan out there, but I do have my favourite rock songs that always make it into our getaway mixtapes. A roadtrip is not a roadtrip if you haven’t sung Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody at the top of your lungs, am I right?

However, my dad has always been a fan of the old school rock bands, so we grew up to the tunes of The Doors, Led Zeppelin and Co. frequently sounding in the background –I still remember a recorded concert of Pink Floyd performing Another brick on the wall live when the Berlin Wall fell, one of my dad’s favourites ♥

How would you style the band tee, glamistas? Is there a music group that marked your childhood?

Hope this outfit inspired you to rock your weekend, peeps!

I love that you threw a blazer over top of your band tee and denim! You are slaying in this outfit and I recently picked up a band tee but wanted to know how to kick up the style a bit. This definitely does that!

Blazers have that ability to pull everything together and add a bit of chic to an edgier look. I cannot seem to live without my blazer these days! Would love to see how you style your band tee Rina! Xx

You are so right about it!!! A good outfit can make me feel a lot better no matter what, haha. Thought I was the only one thinking that way, but it looks like I was wrong ;). Well, you totally nailed the casual chic look and got me in love with that band tee. Need in my modest graphic tees collection xD. Have a lovely day! xx

Haha, yup, this week has been one of those weeks for sure! Even more so that I’m VERY pregnant and just don’t have much energy for anything. I, too, don’t favor rock music, but like the aesthetic, as you’ve mentioned. That said, I love the way you’ve styled the band tee with the acid wash jeans, giving off a very biker chic 80s vibe, which I love! Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a great week so far!

I love me a good rock band tee. Even if, like you, the music’s not quite my genre, the vibe certainly is 🙂 especially the ones from either Junk Food or Chaser, worth every penny for that soft, lived-in feel. Mum jeans, now that’s another thing altogether, something I’d run away screaming from hahahaha I go all the way. Band tees with leather pants then the blazer for a little somethin’ somethin’ 🙂

Love the blazer with the jeans and tee – I like wearing my blazers like that too! All of my band tees I’ve bought when I’ve seen groups live, so I don’t have any vintage wash ones like this which is a shame as you wear it well! 🙂

Hope you are having an awesome week so far! 🙂
