I am currently writing from Madrid, where the sun is shining bright during the day and the nights caress you with their gentle Spring touch. Every time I come, it feels like home and I regret a tiny bit moving to England. I miss Madrid’s lights, its streets, the warm people and weather, the hustle, the lively atmosphere… Oh, the hardships of an expat! 😉
However, I am one to count the blessings we have and so I think today’s frames couldn’t have been taken anywhere else but Cambridge. This outfit really matches the spirit of my adoptive city, which these days is presenting us with the most amazing colours and blooming flowers. Come along, I promise to keep it light and colourful!
We start this mini Cambridge tour at Ferry Lane, host to the cute blue house in above shots and leading to Water St. where you can find The Green Dragon, one of the oldest pubs in the city and said to have inspired Tolkien and his Green Dragon Inn in the Lord of the Rings.
From its beer garden you can enjoy the gorgeous views of the River Cam, with its weekend buzz of rowers, runners, swans and passers-by. I love coming to this quiet corner of the city from where you can admire the colourful longboats mooring on the riverbank and even see cows grazing on the park across the river, Stourbridge Common.
From here, you can cross the Green Dragon Bridge and go for a walk along the river towards Fen Ditton, a lovely ancient town full of cottages with thatched roofs, oh so quaint! ♥
Once there, I would recommend you to have lunch at The Plough while sipping on a local brew and enjoying the stunning views. As you may have guessed already, the Cam always was and still is a key element of this city and I will be showing you more of it in future posts!
Alternatively, you can wander around the streets of Chesterton in a pretty Sunday outfit, while searching for a contrasting brick wall, a sunny corner, or an adorable heron graffiti to snap the perfect pictures for your blog post 🙂
You already saw this polka dot shirt in a winter outfit (here), but now that days are warmer, it can finally take the prominent place it deserves to create a chic and sophisticated look, perfectly suited for a meal out with family and friends. Bring on the mimosas, please!
And to add a touch of spring to the look, I opted for these three-colour-block heels that are the apple of my eyes as I told you already. I never miss a chance to take them out for a stroll, because they are a real show stopper and just what I needed to add a fun element to this #ootd while keeping it glamorous and chic, don’t you think? ♥
In case you are wondering how many cute streets can be found in Cambridge, I’ll tell you that there are still a few more that I keep on scouting for you guys, so stay tuned! 😉
BTW, I’ve linked up with Amy from Straight A Style & J Petite here. Go show them some love cause they are amazing bloggers and their style won’t leave you indifferent!
Happy Easter /Passover /Sunday /day /life, my dear glamistas! ♥
