Reporting from pretty ol’ Cambridge, travel frenzy behind us, with a lot of motivation and new ideas to put into motion. The past four months have been simply amazing (I promise to bore you to death with travel content in upcoming months!), but I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss a bed that would take me for more than 3 nights in a row and the certainty of knowing which day of the week we live in. Granted, we still have to sort out a few things, such as new accommodation and other annoying adult stuff, but we left open businesses in Cambridge so it was only natural to come back here after our break, even if with a renewed energy and bigger dreams than before 🙂
Thus feeling full of inspiration and in a good mood stemming from the country’s latest heat wave, I thought I would gather here a few of the things I am looking forward to bringing into my life and the ones that I can’t wait to resume now that I can call England my adoptive home again.
Shall we call them mid-year’s resolutions? Let’s get into it!
New beginnings
Exe(o)rcising the crap out of my body: quite literally. I feared putting on some weight while away as I suspected the lack of a cooking/eating routine and my tendency to eat ALL the shit that appears before my eyes might not be compensated by all the walking we did, but I am not happy with how tight my favourite pair of jeans feels right now so I am determined to do something about it. Wish me luck!
Gearing up to tackle some of those Pinterest DIYs: it was about time. I had to turn the never ending well of inspiration found on Pinterest into something more than an aspirational concept. I want my future house to be a reflection of who I am at the moment, and that is someone with an ever bigger love of plants, desert-themed touches and affordable decor ideas that make us not want to leave our cozy burrow once we settle in. Any cool ideas, glamistas? I am all ears.
Invest in adult skincare magic: it may sound like a ridiculous goal, but despite having suffered from heavy hormonal acne for the past 10 years, I only started using skincare products a few years ago after my mum insisted my skin wouldn’t feel 18 forever. I have since tried a few products that I am not 100% happy with, so I need to call the professionals in and give my skin the love it deserves. Hit me up with your recommendations on this front as well, beauty gurus, this sister needs you!
Sustainable has to be the next big thang: this is something that has been on the back of our minds for years, but it has really hit us during our travels. People not caring about their surroundings, throwing plastics in a gorgeous green hill in the middle of nowhere, where they will sit for centuries to come affecting the whole ecosystem 🙁 The fashion industry is also one of the biggest polluters in the world, so we need to start acting as if our individual actions do matter in the bigger scheme of things, because I am convinced we can and must change those harmful practices, not to mention we can have a huge positive impact on the quality of life of those working in the industry! More to come on this topic.
Take my blog to the next level: it’s been a year an a half since I created She talks Glam from my sister’s living room. For months I have been invested in creating original quality content, beautiful imagery, improve my writing and editing skills, increasing my social media following, etc. but it seems this glamourous rocket is having some sort of technical issues taking off… Houston, you there? I could also say I have worked my ass off trying to take STG to the next level, but the truth is that one can always do more and that’s what I intend to do this year. Instead of obsessing over how many few Instagram followers I have, I want to start connecting with other bloggers I can learn from, find ways of monetizing my creativity and above all, I want to keep on being proud of the content I put out there.

Oldies but goodies
Read, read and read some more: I have neglected reading sooo much over the last year as there was simply not time for everything. However I am the happiest little bunny when I am immersed in a good novel or article, plus it always helps with that writing I was mentioning before. I have a few books on my list already, but if you have any life-changing story in mind, do share it in the comments down below.
Cooking with my partner in crime: I’ll be honest here, peeps. Not having to think about a weekly menu for a few months has been quite liberating, but I have missed grocery shopping (I am one of those crazy ladies that gets excited to go to the supermarket, haha) and I have missed cooking along my beau. We are a great team and we normally cook together, although there are certain dishes that have either one of our signatures so when we prepare those, the other cook usually sits back and sips the wine. Now, I have pinned so many healthy and colourful recipes on Pinterest lately (shoutout to Andreea for half of the ideas) that I can’t wait to try them and share the best with you over here!
Quality time with fam & friends: if there is something I have missed while on the go, it’s been my little rays of sunshine, the people who make my life more special, fun and worthy. I intend to be a bit more present for them going forward, so that I can give back some of that love in the form of phone-free time over coffee, flowers and/or homemade Spanish tortilla 🙂
How has your summer been so far, glamistas? I am dying to know how all of you are doing!
Peace&Love

16th July 2018 at 5:11 pmI totally love your suggestions. Funnily enough I cooked again today after not doing so for the longest time and I bought a new book! It really does make a difference to do those small things sometimes.

10th July 2018 at 9:50 pmYASSS to this inspirational post! Definitely stealing some of your ideas 😉 I began with a more thorough skincare routine earlier this year and I’m still trying to figure out what works for me. I don’t really know what I’m doing but I love Vogue’s beauty videos on Youtube to get some ideas/inspiration. Haha perhaps not the best idea, but love the videos! Looking forward to catching up babe!! Xx
