10 things I have done in my six months as a blogger

So… yesterday it was officially 6 months since the day I decided to cast all my fears away and jump on my little boat in order to head deep into the vast sea of fashion blogging. I cannot say I have gotten that far yet, but my little vessel keeps on sailing slowly but surely propelled by the winds of your kind words and continuous encouragement –so a big THANKS to all of you! ♥

And after this poetical opening, let’s get down to business and disclose the juicy information that you came here looking for!

Even though I haven’t been a fashion blogger for long, I have figured out that the secret formula for success comes with some side effects that affect many of us. And despite not liking the fact that I have totally fallen into the trap, I am sure of two things:
a) if you are a fellow blogger, you will know what I am talking about;
b) if you are a fellow social media enthusiast, you will know what I am talking about!

10 things I have done in my six months as a blogger

1. Chosen a restaurant or coffee spot for how instagrammable it was, then eaten lukewarm food because it was necessary to arrange the composition and take 1,374,325 pictures in order to end up sharing the ONE on social media

2. Looked for all the possible props I could use at home for a still photo (#flatlaysquad), including but not limited to: live and dead flowers, assorted crockery and cutlery, makeup, sunglasses, bed sheets, cacti and various coffee-look-alikes

3. Risked my life and my photographer’s (AKA my BF) in order to snap a pic in the middle of the road. Taking street style’s spirit to the next level!

4. Gained six pounds from eating my sumptuous Instagram breakfasts. Yes, I eat them, pretty much of all it!

5. Shared an #OOTD on Instagram that was not my #OOTD. If a girl wears a cute outfit and doesn’t post it on social media, did it really happen?

Polka dot blouse and culottes | Selfie game | She talks Glam | 10 things I have done in my 6 months as blogger

6. Stopped caring that strangers stare at the crazy girl taking a million pictures before a pink door –or a blue door, or a red door… apparently I have a thing with doors!

Soreditch colourful doors | Striped sleeveless shirt | Mom black jeans | She talks Glam | 10 things I have done in my 6 months as blogger

7. Felt FOMO at all the events I have never attended in my life but cool fashion bloggers are supposed to attend: Coachella, Fashion Week, D&G’s new collection launch party, the christening of Kim Kardashian’s latest kid…

8. Stayed up until 2AM on a weekday to prepare a blog post because otherwise I had nothing to post on Sunday (God forbid that happens or a hundred kittens would die!)

Not enough coffee in the world

9. Dragged my boyfriend out of bed on the weekends to immortalise those looks you see over here (#bloggerhusband). You should see his face every time we go to a deserted street to shoot and a dozen cars start to appear out of nowhere 😛 (I love you, babe!)

Printed Disney tee - another way to floral print! | Black mini skirt | Canvas bag and shoes | She talks Glam | 10 things I have done in my 6 months as blogger

Oh, look, another colourful door!

10. Learned 100+ social media and fashion related acronyms to give the impression that I have an actual clue of what I am doing 😀

I could also add to the list that since I started blogging I have had to learn a bit of content management & WordPress, a bit of photo editing and a lot of worklife/bloglife balance, but that’s another post’s story and my aim with this one was to #keepitreal and show you guys that, although I am loving this new adventure and giving it my 100%, everyday I try to remember not to take myself very seriously, cause life is too short and we never know what’s round the corner…

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek at She talks Glam – Behind the scenes!
What are you guilty of from this list, glamistas? Let me know in the comments, I will be the last person to judge, I swear!!

Peace&Love

Wow this blog post was a little too relatable, haha! My fiancé has gotten so much better at photography since he helps me out with my blog, and I’ve improved my writing skills too. Blogging is not all that bad 😉

Well all of this sounds familiar! I got sick of food getting cold so i now order salad (avocado still looks great in a pic) My husband resents me every time i ask for a pic but on a plus note i stopped caring about what people think because if that door looks good, it needs to be snapped! x

Love this! So incredibly accurate – although my niche is beauty and not fashion, I totally laughed at the flat-lay one. It’s so good to see that I’m not alone!

I’ve also been blogging for six months and it’s been a wonderful roller coaster of frustration and bliss but it’s all worth it for the wonderful community we get to be a part of!

Babe! You are such a blogging pro considering you’ve only been doing it for 6 months! You are way far ahead I was when I was 6 months in! And I totally can relate to your list lol. I have taken photos in the most crowded areas and have gotten all types of stares but it doesn’t phase me anymore. My hubby takes the photos and wonders how I don’t feel completely awkward doing it all lol. And basically all my OOTDs are never what I wore that day so there’s that =P
